Control Unit for Autonomous Vacuum Cleaner
Matějů, Jan ; Kopečný, Lukáš (referee) ; Žalud, Luděk (advisor)
This paper is in introduction focused on review of robotic vacuum cleaning and evaluation of available products qualities. However the main focus of this paper is system design of all subsystems, control systems and PCD design of robot electronics. In this paper is also described a method for evaluating approximate distance of robot from the obstacle. There are also described problems of system design of IR proximity sensors. The last part of this work is development of control software for robot and its testing.
Bluetooth® Low Energy Vehicle Keyless Entry
Socio-cultural centre with townhall for the district Brno-Kohoutovice
Ľuptáková, Lenka ; Pechman, Tomáš (referee) ; Sochor, Jan (advisor)
The building of the town hall Brno Kohoutovice is situated on the site next to the local hospital. Currently, there is a widespread paved area, which has become the place for markets and other cultural activities. Town hall completed urban structure, built on the most visible plot, and closes the plaza on the east side. From the south, the square is open to Kohoutovická valley. It is closed and opened at the same time by a colonnade. Functional composition is expressed in both - size and material. On a solid concrete base, which holds cultural and social events, lie two light steel boxes dedicated to the town hall. The middle part is cantilivered into the square, which symbolizes the proximity of town hall offices to the citizens. It is dedicated to the departements, which are in daily contact with the public. The upper part with large terrace has representative function. There are the internal departements and a ceremonial hall.
About the Relationship of Humility and Pride
Smetana, Pavel ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Blažková, Miloslava (referee)
This thesis deals with the research of humility from the view of its elusiveness - it does not define humility and it also does not even try to do so. Conversely, it walks around the phenomenon of humility and points at it in different ways. It uses examples, mostly from works of Comenius, and builds it with parallels from works of Jung, Foucault, Jünger, Drewermann and some other authors. It delimits humility against pride at example of different view of "epoché" in works of Comenius and Descartes; pride is basicly seen where human does not leave any unnaturalness and completely absorbs the world by his own opinion; work also uses Husserl's criticism of Descartes' view of "epoché" and Comenius' criticism of Machiavelli is also mentioned. Thence, the thesis sees the principle of humility in a close relation with the principle of faith or simply with the knowledge of the principle of some higher instance than the human's own sense is. The principle of humility is also nearby to the principle of grace - for this example the thesis researches Simone Weil's concept of "weight and grace"; grace from this point of view is an unpredictable step outside the performance-based part of human life. This thesis deals with mentioned phenomenons at first at the level of the visions of the world, later at the...
Early ontogeny of mother offspring bonding in Bovinae
Staňková, Helena ; Komárková, Martina (advisor) ; Jůnková, Pavla (referee)
The aim of this thesis is, based on the literature, to study the origin, characters and duration of social bonds between the mother and her offspring in Bovinae. The emphasis was given on the specifics of the behaviour related to birth and ecological differences between species. The explored group covers medium and large Artiodactyla living in groups. Many of them were domesticated, and they live in specific conditions so their behaviour may differ. The strongest bond is between the mother and her offspring. This bond is essential for the young, which is completely dependent on the maternal care. Maternal behaviour may be observed few days before parturition, but the most visible sign is maternal separation from the herd to secure exclusive interaction with own offspring. Mother learns to recognize her offspring after parturition, primarily by smell, also for this reason the young is licked. Suckling provides the nutrition to the calf, but also it reinforces mutual relationship. The strength of the bond is mainly dependant on the social environment, strategy of the young, it's age and other factors. The bond between the mother and her offspring differs according to the species, in the duration and in a way of termination. This topic is nowadays only poorly understood and needs further research.

Contract research with faculties of Mechanical Engineering in Czechia: The role of Geographical, Cognitive and Institutional proximity
Havlín, Brian ; Květoň, Viktor (advisor) ; Pělucha, Martin (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the cooperation of universities and companies. The main aim was to analyze the spatial distribution of companies cooperating with research teams at the engineering faculties of universities in Ostrava, Liberec, Plzeň and Prague and to find out the spatial formula of the partners working with these faculties. The partial aim of the work was to identify the mechanisms behind cooperation and to analyze initiatives and activities supporting this cooperation. Last but not least, the work tried to find out which types of proximity play a role in establishing cooperation among academic staff and private enterprises. The theoretical framing of the thesis was based on the theory of regional innovation systems and the concepts of triple helix and knowledge bases. In order to obtain the necessary information, a number of interviews with academic staff were carried out. The results show the importance of geographical, institutional and cognitive and social proximity, which have an impact on the character of cooperation. The main finding is that a geographic distance has a major influence on the realization of contract research with engineering faculties. Key words: technology transfer, contractual research, cooperation, proximity
Mechanisms of assortative mating in humans
Dudková, Tamara ; Havlíček, Jan (advisor) ; Bártová, Klára (referee)
Two main principles of the relationship formation were previously established: i) homogamy and ii) heterogamy. According to the principle of homogamy, partners tend to be similar to each other. In contrast, heterogamy states that partners' characteristics differ. The theory of homogamy has reached significantly higher empirical support, however it is still unclear which mechanisms lead to similarities between partners. Potential mechanisms involve proximity (geography and social propinquity/proximity), preference for self-similarity, convergence (mutual assimilation) during cohabitation etc. Several previous studies showed, the similarity between partners in various social-demographic, physical, and attitudinal characteristics among others contributes to the relationship satisfaction. The main aim of the proposed bachelor thesis, is to perform a review of the relevant literature and analyse which mechanisms of homogamy and heterogamy apply to various characteristics and whether their role vary according to the type of the relationship (i.e. open relationships, marriages, etc.)
